How to Decrease Acne Scar Appearence

| More
There is no single treatment for acne scars that fits all cases. Based on intensity of acne form: mild (whiteheads and blackheads), moderate (red inflamed pimples with or without white centers) and severe (pus filled cysts or lumps) the scars can have different shape and depth (or height, if they are raised over the skin surface-hypertrophic).

In order to get rid of acne scars or make them less visible we need to remove the upper damaged layers of the skin. Deep scars can be leveled up to the skin surface by using fillers or plastic surgery. Chemical peel or microdermabrasion is used for mild scaring, laser resurfacing or dermabrasion - for moderate scaring. Severe acne cases cause deep scars that can be treated with fractionated laser, filler injections or plastic surgery. The success in removing scars mainly depends on the depth, height and shape of the scar tissue and it’s discoloration.

However shallower, smaller scars, dark spots and skin discoloration usually accompany deeper acne scars. Here is where home remedies come in place. Natural ingredients containing acids and enzymes remove the superficial layer of the skin, repair smaller acne scars, smooth and even the skin tone and fade dark spots.
